In this interactive discussion, Ms. Song, a renowned civil society leader in China, will provide unique insights into opportunities and challenges facing local Chinese NGOs as well as her strategies to strengthen and broaden feedback mechanisms between Chinese citizens and local government officials. *** Song Qinghua is President of Shining Stone Community Action (SSCA), a Chinese NGO founded in 2002. Ms. Song focuses on social innovation and participatory governance. She has provided professional consulting to individuals, community organizations, other NGOs and local government departments throughout China. She has also developed training courses, including Chinese Community Participatory Theory and Methods, Building Community Organizations in Chinese Urban Communities, and Community Conflict Management. Ms. Song has given lectures on social management and innovation to the students of Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Beijing Normal University, as well as those in the United States. |
